In these these one-of-a-kind programs, comedian coaches work as visiting artist instructors to give youth from 9-17 years of age the tools and perspectives to better face the challenges life throws at them. Stand Up For Student Well-Being works to support youth by sharing resiliency strategies for stress & anxiety.
We are proud of our partnership with TDSB & welcome building relationships with more school boards!

In-Person Programs for Staff and Students!
In-Person Full-Day Comedy Program
This model is designed with smaller schools in mind as an “in school field trip” that can be inserted at any point during the school year. Choose Stand-Up, or Improv, or Meme comedy.
Fees:
One Comedian Coach (max. 9 youth) $1,200
Two Comedian Coaches (max. 30 youth) $1,800
In-Person 3 Session + Showcase Stand-Up Comedy Program
This program takes place over three sessions, for two hours each session = 6 hours learning stand up comedy and improv comedy. Then, additional time is spent with a select, smaller group of students preparing for the culminating Showcase. The classroom is transformed into a writer’s room, a comedy club & an open learning space. Comedian Coaches and teachers collaborate in assisting students to write & perform.
We have received a special donation from The Aune Foundation that allows Model Schools Inner City (MSIC) to have a deeply discounted fee of $500. This is a limited time offer.

Our Line-Up of Comedy
Stand-Up Comedy – This is the basic starting place where participants uncover their unique voice. This type of comedy program focuses on exploring self-expression through fun activities, exercises and guidance from our trained coaches to help each participant develop and perform their very first stand-up comedy routine. Participants learn valuable literacy and public speaking skills as they make their stand-up comedy debut!
Improv Comedy – This energetic, collaborative and fun type of comedy teaches important improv philosophies that translate into positive life skills, such as the “Yes And” approach. During the program participants have opportunities to perform in many different short-form improv scenes, and develop their unique sense of humour in a nurturing and collaborative environment.

Creating kinder, playful, and trusting environments
